A Ceramic Artist/Studio Potter for over 25 years, producing
a range of tableware and one-off pieces using slip-cast and thrown
porcelain, terracotta and paper clays. I work with a rich palette of
colour using design and mark-making elements of pattern; stripes, dots, abstract brushstrokes
and splashing techniques often altogether creating works that are 'funky' and enjoyable to
use. The intention is to enliven the entertaining and daily living experience and garden
environment. For my tile-works I use a variety of production techniques; handmade and
hand-painted, using maiolica glazes, commercial white tiles and coloured
onglazes and template cut tiles. For the sculptural forms I cover in a 'pique assiette' mosaic
technique or recycled broken china.
