Originally from Ireland Alan Hogan now lives in the small town of Karis in Finland.
Art was always his favorite subject at school and he continued to show interest
in it for many years after. Hogan also spent some time in other areas of work, sometimes in
jobs he disliked.
After graduating from the university of art in Dublin he became involved in commercial
printing and desktop publishing. This allowed me him to continue part-time as a traditional
artist while having a steady income at a job he liked.
Many years later, an opportunity came to move to Finland and begin a new life.
Working in the print industry had become tiresome and monotonous. Hogan needed to be more
creative, hence his decision to become a full-time artist in Finland.
At present he owns a small home-based gallery which he opens occasionally to the
public. Hogan recently took part in the Konstrundan project and Helsinki Design Week 2010
events in Finland.
Inspired by nature and the need for positivity, Alan Hogan opts to paint likeable subjects and
scenes in bright colours.
Alan Hogan is a visual artist born in Ireland and now based in Finland. Since
moving to Finland in 2007, he has set up a company called The Art Garage from where he
promotes and sells his art.
He has had his paintings on display at his studio and various venues. He has
also participated in Helsinki Design Week 2010 at The Cable Factory and Konstrundan 2010.
