My artwork is created mostly with pen and ink. I use different types of pens like
markers, fine-point pens and graphic pens. I usually draw most of my patterns in black ink,
though I sometimes experiment with colour using colour pencils and acrylic paints.
I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and am a self-taught artist.
In 1986 I held a joint exhibition themed 'Glimpses of the Fleeting Truth' with my
cousin.
Since then my path has taken various turns when I had worked in a multinational advertising
agency as a media buyer and later with another agency as a media planner. After almost 25
years of working in the media industry I left it all to pursue my passion for art.
In the winter of 2011 I underwent a life-changing experience that resulted in a new form of
complex drawings, the source of which I cannot explain. In the past I was a different kind of
artist, dabbling in surreal expressions as I tried to communicate my search for truth.
My first solo exhibition themed "Mindsong" was held at KLPAC, Kuala Kuala Lumpur in
August 2012.
My second solo exhibition is currently being held at the Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur
from Dec 20- Feb 7th 2013.
What started for me as mere doodles in the past has now turned out as intricate patterns that
appear to reflect the complexity of the human consciousness and the universe.
