Tanya Dann first picked up a paintbrush at the age of 2, and made a huge mess in her mother's
kitchen! That began her passion for painting; a passion which has steadily grown over the
years.
Tanya has always been artistic in nature. In 2000 she moved to Dunedin and while studying
Zoology at University of Otago, she began to paint as a creative outlet.
Tanya is a predominantly self-taught artist who works in a variety of styles and loves
experimenting with new ideas. She paints mainly in Gouache and acrylics, although recent works
have branched into other artforms including textiles, jewellery, scuplture, digital art,
photography and ceramics. She is a member of the Nea Zealand Art Guild.
