Festa Joubert, artist and photographer, was born in Johannesburg and currently rents a studio
in Pretoria South Africa. She studied Graphic design and Languages at the University of
Pretoria for a short period of time but found that her talents drew her elsewhere. She is
otherwise self-taught and enjoys experimenting with an array of media, including Oil, h1Oil,
Ink and Pencil.
Festa specializes in both super-realist and expressionist portraits, landscapes and still
life. Her styles in the different media show a rare understanding and appreciation of natural
light, which explains the theme of her four recent collections, titled: Morning, Day, Evening
and Dark. Festa presented these collections in her first solo Exhibition in 2010, where she
established herself as a notable artist in the public eye.
