For me, being an artist means having the freedom to use any medium, style and
materials to capture what it is I am trying to express.
I have always felt this hunger to create - I enrolled at art school at 15, and immersed myself
in learning about art and its limitless media. By the time I graduated six years later, I had
majored in painting (under the tutelage of Elizabeth Gunter), graphic design, photography and
graphic processes.
My education in graphic design affects my painting; my painting has an effect on my
photography, and so on, so that even though I work in different media, it is all unified in my
personal aesthetic vision.
I am based in Cape Town, South Africa, and have been working as a full-time artist since 2000.
