A Bachelor of Arts in Modern Humanities graduate (Magna Cum Laude) and a professional artist
for 25 years, Isabel Echevarría has had numerous exhibits in Asia, Spain and the United
States. A 2004 Orensanz awardee, she constantly participates in various shows in mainstream
galleries of Manhattan and Washington D.C. Recognized artistically in Manila since 1981, she
appears in several published books of Contemporary Filipino Art and her portraits hang in
several museums and state offices in the Philippines. Her oils are found in private
collections in Asia, the Middle East, the United States, and Europe.
Isabel´s work reflect the fusion of her Asiatic culture and her Spanish heritage. An
artist -in- residence of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria since 2004, she is fascinated by the
similarities and differences on the culture of both archipelagos. Whether in her Carvaval,
Kayumanggi or Alizarin series, each of her figures encapsulate an emotion of a precise moment,
reliving her impressions in the eyes of the viewer.
