Richard Barry started his formal education in the mid
1970's at Plymouth School of Art in the UK where he was taught by Alexander Mackenzie, a
leading member of the 'St. Ives' movement. He then attended Stoke-on-Trent School of Art,
gained a degree and became an illustrator for the major advertising and editorial clients
in London.
Since the end of the 1990's he has concentrated solely on personal paintings
and drawings together with portrait and figurative commissions, and his work is now in
numerous collections in Britain and overseas.
