Jolita Jarutiene - Lithuanian Artist
Ambassador of Vilnius as the European Capital of Culture 2009
Jolita was born in Kaunas, Lithuania in 1970 and now lives, works and represents Lithuanian
Art in Northern Ireland. She studied at Kaunas University and finally was awarded with The
Master of Arts degree. Also she has National Diploma in Art & Design. Jolita does art
workshops, which showcase her artistic talents in the form of ceramics, painting and ethnic
art. They give adults and children an opportunity to come together and, through the forum of
art, appreciate the cultural identity and diversity of the many differing people now living in
Northern Ireland.
Since 2000 Jolita's art work has been exhibited in numerous one person and group shows in
Lithuania, Republic of Ireland and United Kingdom. Private collectors in United Kingdom,
Republic of Ireland, Spain, France and Lithuania have commissioned and purchased Jolita's
paintings and ceramics. Jolita's art woks are created from outward things, using different
medias and techniques.
