My name is Nicola, and I am a part time pet portrait and people portrait artist
from Glasgow, Scotland. I am 26 years old and live with my fiance Mark, cat named Neo and
kitten called Kato.
I have always drawn and painted but recently realised I would like to make it my
day job. At the moment I work full time and pet portrait and people portrait art is part time.
I love animals and have been known to take in more than one stray. One day I would like to
volunteer and work with big cats in Africa and donate some pet portraits or wildlife artwork
to animal charities.
I started portraits again when friends and family asked me to draw their pets
and I begun doing portraits regularly. I also like drawing and painting for myself too. I use
pastels, charcoal and pencil for portraits. Getting all the small details right on a pet
portrait can be difficult but the finished piece makes it all worthwhile.
I love drawing cats and dogs and all other animals, capturing their character
and bringing them to life on paper. I also love sunny days, homemade food, being on holiday
& I spend most of my time admiring other peoples artwork! At the moment, I do mostly cat
drawings and dog drawings.
