Statement
Using manipulated, recycled images my work explores fashion, identity and the body as a
commodity. Comprised of mixed media works on panel and paper the work is textural and glossy
deriving from its magazine paper origins. It also references my mother's work as a fashion
designer.
Growing up in a military family I lived a very transitory existence for the first fifteen
years of my life. The observation of a culture as a means of adjustment and survival has
proven a necessity. Culture and social control have continued to be of special interest in my
art work.
