Jeramy Fletcher was born in 1977 in Valdosta, Georgia. He is a self taught artist now living
in New York, whose work consists of a colorful and emotional compilation of memories and
curiosities on canvas using a mix of media, from acrylic paint and oil paint markers to oil
sticks and pen and ink on traditional cloth canvas and wood panels. Jeramy\'s work is
distinctively poignant and depicts an occasionally painful personal history and imagination
richly illustrated with images that are both mundane and violent.
Operating from a perspective that is at once inherently nostalgic and rooted in the present,
Jeramy finds beauty and meaning in a conflicted past where confusion and trouble haunt him.
Today he finds solace in reaching backward and drawing out those old memories, finding a
contemporary context and composition that both soothes and confronts. Dreamlike, his paintings
call to mind a particular sense of isolation, adventure, comfort, trauma and desire.
Jeramy views the world vigilantly as a continuous painting through a shifting lens that never
quite erases his personal past. He describes his work as a collage of memories and cultural
touchstones, from childhood to the present, country to city, blended together to tell a story.
