McMaster Museum of Art serves as a cultural hub for the University campus and the region through
dynamic and multi-disciplinary exhibitions and programs, scholarly interpretation and preservation
of collections, and innovative practices in museology.
Museum houses McMaster University's permanent collection of over 7,000 works representing the
history of art in a diversity of media from ancient times to the present.
The Museum contains five Exhibition Galleries, a Paper Centre and an Education Gallery * offers a
year-round program of changing exhibitions of historical, modern and contemporary art and presents
the McMaster graduating studio art class exhibition each spring * complementary program of public
events including lunchtime talks, visiting artist talks, panel discussions and workshops is ongoing.
Special collections include; Canadian art, early 20th century German Expressionist art and modern
and contemporary European art.
