Sabah Art Gallery is a state art  gallery which was established in 1982 under the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports. However to-day the gallery operates under the administration of Sabah Cultural Board and is temporarily housed in the Science Centre of the Sabah Museum Complex which is under the same ministry; ie the Ministry of Tourism,  Culture and the Environment. The gallery occupies a space of 11,980 square foot on the first floor of the Science Centre for exhibitions, adadministration and storage purposes.
