The Company opened in the fall of 2008 in Los Angeles' Chinatown inside of a 500 square foot former registration office for the Moytel apartments on Yale Street. An adjacent garage was used to exhibit video, installation and performance.
In 2011, The Company moved into a larger space on Chung King Road.
The program consists of emerging and mid-career artists living in the US and abroad. The gallery is not media specific and has exhibited audio works, video, painting, works on paper, photography, performance, installation and sculpture since its opening.
The gallery represents Jen DeNike (New York), Eli Hansen (Tacoma), Jesse Fleming (Los Angeles), Alexa Gerrity (Los Angeles), Ali Prosch (Los Angeles), Lisi Raskin (New York), and Sigrid Sandstrom (Stockholm). The artists have exhibited and/or are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, PS1/MoMA, Seattle Art Museum, Moderna Mussett, KW Berlin, Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard, MoCA North Miami, and MoCA Los Angeles.
The Company has participated in the NADA Art Fair in Miami Beach, 2010, Art Los Angeles Contemporary, 2009 & 2010, and The First Annual Malibu Art Fair, 2009.
