Short Artist Biography
- 1939 Leng Dixon returned to South Africa; member of the New Group. Worked exclusively in pen
and wash; successful as a book-illustrator. Book illustrations include ‘Not for Me the
Wilds’ by Barbara Carr.
- Married to Cape Town Artist, Phay Hutton – subsequently separated.
- 1952 ‘Leng Dixon’, a book containing a number of his Malay and Cape sketches, was
published by Maskew Miller, Cape Town.
